Young Arts
The Young Arts Group of CDFAS has many very varied projects. We go to schools where we initiate or support art projects, from Infants to College age groups and including Special needs pupils.
Our small committee meet and liaise with the teachers and artists and help organise projects and also help in a hands on capacity!
In the 40th anniversary year of CDFAS we organized an Art Fest at the Misbourne School which involved three artists in Batik, Painting and Pottery, working with 12 & 13 year olds, with brilliant results. There was also a competition for all feeder Junior schools to decorate a chocolate box for Willy Wonka's (Roald Dahl) chocolates, which was judged and prizes given.
Other projects have been to supply a printer scanner to Cressex School - A grant to Chalfont Community College for their Sculpture patio - Felt making of fairy tale figures and a wall hanging at Carrington Infant School Flackwell Heath.
The inaugural annual award for outstanding work at Amersham College was won by Sara Leigh. Sara was presented with a certificate and the award, a magnificent piece of etched glass, will be held at the College.
